Coxinha is a Brazilian cuisine made of chicken, garlic, onion and cheese wrapped with flour dough. Coated with batter and bread crumbs, coxinha will be fried. The teardrop shape of coxinha was originally made to resemble the chicken thigh. Story has it that the prince of Brazil liked to eat chicken thigh, but the chef replaced the thigh with a fried chicken ball because they were out of chicken thigh. Coxinha is now a street snack and classic appetizer loved by not only the prince but everyday Brazilian.
