Surimi is the paste of fish or meat which can be made into different shapes and forms. Surimi are widely used in East Asia for fish ball, soup and hot pot making. Surimi fish ball is a common hot pot ball stuffed with fish roe. Other fillings like cheese, cream, eggs, mushrooms and meats are also used. These seasoned fish paste products, such as fishcake, fish ball, surimi cake, satsuma age can not only be boiled but also pan-fried or deep-fried.
